Free Ultima Online tools

Two open-source tools for Ultima Online shard operators and content creators, built for the Schattenwelt shard and usable with any Sphere, SphereX or UO client data. Both are free and run on Windows. Kostenlose Werkzeuge für Ultima-Online-Shards, quelloffen, für Windows.

UOTinker: Ultima Online client file editor

View and edit art.mul, tiledata.mul, land tiles, gumps, hues.mul, radarcol.mul, skills, cliloc and animations. Finds gaps such as art without tiledata or wearables without animation ID, makes a backup before every save, and has an English and German interface.

Code signing policy (UOTinker)

Free code signing provided by SignPath.io, certificate by SignPath Foundation.

  • Only binaries built from the public repository by the GitHub Actions workflow are signed, and only releases approved by the project owner.
  • Team roles: Author, Reviewer and Approver is uo-vasilas (project owner, two-factor authentication enabled). External contributions are reviewed before they are merged.
  • Every signed release can be rebuilt from the tagged source code (GPL v3 or later).

Privacy policy (UOTinker)

UOTinker works on your own files and does not collect, store or transmit personal data. The only exception is the update check at start (can be switched off in the settings menu): the program asks the GitHub API for the latest release, and GitHub receives your IP address and the user agent UOTinker/<version> like with any web request. Settings and backups stay on your computer in %APPDATA%\UOTinker; your client files are never sent anywhere. The installer works per user and includes an uninstaller.
